CHRISTIAN APOLOGETICS AND THE PRINCIPLE APPROACH TO EDUCATION

HISTORICAL FOUNDATIONS AND BIBLICAL REASONING IN THE FACE OF CONTEMPORARY CHALLENGES

Abstract

The objective is to present the foundations, historical development and contemporary challenges of Christian Apologetics. The article investigates the relevance of apologetics as an instrument for the rational defense of the faith, cultural dialogue and the strengthening of Christian identity. The work ranges from its biblical and patristic roots to today's confrontations with moral relativism, scientific skepticism, and the existential crises of the modern world. The analysis integrates the Principled Educational Approach (AEP), based on the method of Rosalie Slater and Verna Hall, as a framework for biblical reasoning applied to the defense of the faith. Through the recognition of divine sovereignty and Christian self-government, apologetics is presented not only as a logical defense but as an expression of Christian character and intellectual stewardship. Through the analysis of ethical, philosophical, and theological concepts, it is concluded that apologetics remains an essential tool both for the inner clarification of the faith and for respectful engagement with divergent worldviews. The study also points to the need for future deepening that integrates apologetics with other disciplines and emerging social contexts.
